What’s New at SuperPages
On December 15, 2004 Superpages announces that it will no longer publish its directories in the expansion markets. In Quebec this represents 9 directories, 18 in Ontario, 3 in Saskatchewan, 1 in Manitoba, 1 in Nova Scotia and 1 in New Brunswick.
In september 2004 Verizon sold Superpages to Bain Capital LLC from Boston.
What’s New at Yellow Pages Group
New Neighborhood directories for Quebec City and Toronto
-YPG launches 4 new neighborhood directories in Quebec City. These new directories will be published in September 2004. They are Beauport/Limoilou, La Cité/Vieux Québec, Les Rivières and Ste-Foy/Sillery.
In Toronto YPG adds 4 new neighborhood directories in the Greater Toronto Area. They will publish in December and will cover the following territories: Etobicoke South West, Mississauga South East, Scarborough South East and South West.
White Pages and Yellow Pages now combined in one book in Montreal and Toronto
-Effective with the September issue of Montreal East and Centre directories, consumer will now find the alpha section of business listings under the same cover as the Yellow Pages.
-This will also be in effect in Toronto with the June 2005 publication.
Consumers will need to access only one book when looking for a business.
“Tip-On” is discontinued
In order to protect its branding YPG has announced that effective with January 2005 issues the “Tip-On” will no longer be offered to advertisers. This will allow to clear the front cover of the directories and build on the strength of the “Walking Fingers” brand. |
